GameDriver MCP Configuration

GameDriver’s Test Assistant tool includes an embedded MCP server, which allows you to connect with the Claude desktop app from Anthropic. This integration allows you to use the LLM to ask questions about the GameDriver API in the context of your application under test and streamlines test authoring.

Unreal Engine support has been available alongside Unity since the 2026.08 release.

  1. Find the Claude desktop configuration file claude_desktop_config.json. This file is typically located in:

    • Windows: AppData\Roaming\Claude
    • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/
  2. Open the file in a text editor and add the following, updating the path to your TA installation.

    Windows:

    {
    "mcpServers": {
    "gamedriver": {
    "command": "D:\\PATH_TO_TA_INSTALL\\GameDriverTA.exe",
    "args": ["--mcp"]
    }
    }
    }

    macOS:

    {
    "mcpServers": {
    "gamedriver": {
    "command": "/Users/PATH_TO_TA_INSTALL/GameDriverTA.app/Contents/MacOS/GameDriverTA",
    "args": ["--mcp"]
    }
    }
    }
  3. Restart Claude, and you should see 12 MCP tools from GameDriver.

Use the claude mcp add command to register the server:

Windows:

claude mcp add --scope user gamedriver "D:\PATH_TO_TA_INSTALL\GameDriverTA.exe" -- --mcp

macOS:

claude mcp add --scope user gamedriver "/Users/PATH_TO_TA_INSTALL/GameDriverTA.app/Contents/MacOS/GameDriverTA" -- --mcp

To remove it:

claude mcp remove gamedriver
